Great Hall | Mary and Emmeline
Mary sat alone at the Gryffindor table, munching on a biscuit and reading Muggle fashion magazine she had brought from home. She didn’t know where her mates had gotten to, but she suspected that the Marauders were in detention or getting into mischief, Lily on rounds, and Doe studying. She was becoming resigned to spending time on her own, though she hated it. She rested her cheek on her hand and idly flipped a page, dog-earing the corners of styles she found appealing.
“Hey Mary.”
She glanced up at the sound of the familiar voice, the corners of her mouth turning up in a relieved smile. “Emmeline!” She reached up and hugged the other girl before patting the seat beside her. “Come sit. I’ve missed you!” She had spent little time with Emmeline recently- conflicting schedules had made it difficult for the two of them to talk. “I’m so excited for Valentine’s Day, Emm. It’s one of my favorite holidays. Though, it would be nice to have a bloke to spend it with.” She laughed. “Got any special plans with Rosier?”
Mary shrugged, poking Emmeline’s side. “I think you might turn into a book if you keep studying so much,” she teased. “No worries, though. It was fun, but I’ll plan other parties. Come to the next one, though, will you?”
Emmeline felt warmth which Mary’s presence often brings her. The Gryffindor had always been the source of comfort for her. Among her friends Mary always had the time to listen and just be there for her whenever she needs it the most. Her outgoing personality and sunny attitude towards life also made Emmeline trust her immediately after they met. She was easy to befriend and she always had love spending time with her. But all of her reviewing and Quidditch practice had made it impossible for her to hang out with the brown-haired sixth year.
The Ravenclaw chaser immediately felt at ease and happy talking about Valentine’s with Mary. It’s actually the first time she’ll be spending the said holiday with a boyfriend. If someone told her last year that she’ll be Evan Rosier’s girlfriend she would have hexed that person but it’s funny how the past months had been. She looked at Mary as she asked her about plans with Evan and her brows met in deep thinking. “I actually don’t know…he’s been dissappearing more and more recently…”
Then she smiled once again. “Don’t worry, I think Marly will drag me to the lake even with that height of hers just to make me attend your picnic thing.”

Ravenclaw Common Room | Septima and Emmeline
Septima listened. So Evan was why… well, and stress. But stress was like air to a Ravenclaw by your sixth or seventh year. “OWLs can be tough… but you’ll be okay. We’re Ravenclaws, after all,” she said with a smile, looking up to meet Emmeline’s eyes. “And Evan… he’s probably just doing family stuff. Maybe you should talk to Desiree?” she offered, tilting her head to the side slightly. She wasn’t completely sure if Emmeline and Evan were the perfect couple, but they seemed happy, and Septima surely hoped that they could stay that way. “I’m okay, just getting through my last year,” she said with a small laugh.
“You’re in Sixth Year, yes? or am I mistaken?” Emmeline’s forehead creased in confusion. She knew Septima was only just a year older than her. “I don’t know. I really don’t want to bother Desiree besides those two just recently patch up things between them. Hopefully it’s about his family but I still wonder why he just can’t simply tell it to me.” Emmeline said a little thoughtfully. It really bugged her more than she let on. Trust and honesty should be the foundation of their relationship right? But with all these secrets and suspicions is not helping at all.
